An original play about a Korean American adoptee, Katy, who falls in love with her student, an artist named Elijah. The ensuing relationship unravels her family past and pushes the boundaries of her self-identity. The play integrates into the storyline traditional Korean drumming, traditional Korean dancing, modern dancing, and original music played by a live band. Over 70 performers and staff members participated in the production, which ran at the historic UCLA Royce Hall Theater.

The Tale of Changsu   [web site]

An original musical made for the stage, loosely based on a traditional Korean folktale. Changsu, a young servant of the royal palace during the Koryo Dynasty, is forced to abandon his elderly mother in the forest because of a law enacted by King Daesong to reduce the impact of a devastating famine. Unable to bring himself to let his mother die, he decides to break the law and bring food to her in the forest periodically. Meanwhile, the palace is in danger of being attacked by their enemy, the Jurchen, so King Daesong orders his daughter, Princess Mina, to protect herself by posing as a servant. Changsu hopelessly falls in love with her, not knowing her true royal identity. In an effort to save his doomed mother and marry the love he cannot have, Changsu gets lured into a dangerous adventure in a world of iron-fisted rulers, greedy aristocrats, and deadly assassins. Performed at UCLA Royce Hall Theater and the Wilshire Ebell Theatre.

Breaking Out of the Bubble examines the Korean American college Christian community, its use of religion and ethnicity to construct a unique identity, and its tendency to form an insular social group. The documentary was produced for an advanced undergraduate production class on video ethnography at the University of California, Los Angeles, and was screened at the quarterly Ethnocommunications Screening for new works.

The 1992 Los Angeles Uprising: Flames That Kindled Understanding

A documentary about the 1992 Los Angeles Uprising that takes the event as both a triumph and tragedy. The video was produced for a social studies class at North Hollywood High School and won the first place award in the Group Media Presentation category for the History Day L.A. Countywide Competition at USC in 1997.
